The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a mutlifaceted dog who excels in both conformation and performance events. Ridgebacks are considered sighthounds in the United States allowing them to partipate in lure coursing field trials. Due due to their natural dexterity, speed and quick mind they enjoy agility trials. With appropriate training they can excel in obedience events.

A Ridgeback is most happy when their mind and body is being challenged. Therefore, they require a variety of outlets such as:

  • Participation in performance or show events
  • Having a variety of daily activites
  • Getting plenty of exercise

Ridgebacks love their family and wish to be fully part of their lives.

A Ridgeback can do most anything, if they set their mind to it...
