We are no longer accepting inquiries regarding our exciting spring 2010 litter as our waiting list is currently full. We have searched across the nation and found a stud dog that is an excellent match in temperament, form, genetics, genealogy and beauty. This will help ensure healthy puppies that are the best representation of the breed, wonderful family companions, and with a high potential for show and performance prospects. Our breeding philosophy is to match the sire and dam to maximize offspring health, genetics, physical structure, and temperament while maintaining breed type. We breed only when that thorough research has convinced us that the proposed litter is going to significantly improve the Ridgeback gene pool. It is our desire that our Ridgebacks bring joy to your lives and are an inseparable part of your family.
To ensure the dogs bred are of the best representatives of the breed they are at a minimum AKC Champion dams and sires, from a Champion pedigree, and often have performance titles. Our lineage has an exceptional pedigree including dogs who have achieved: Best in Show, Best of Breed at Westminster, Best of Breed at Rhodesian Ridgeback National, Field Coursing Champions, Agility titles, Obedience titles and Versatility Certificates. They are also known for their outstanding temperaments, making them excellent companions for a loving family.
In order to help reduce the probability that the puppies will have an inherited disease state-of-the-art health screening of the Sire and Dam is conducted by independent experts. At a minimum, those recommended by Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of America to obtain the CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) designation are obtained. Analysis of testing results and health information of the Sire and Dam genealogy is conducted. Below is the listing of health screening completed for dogs who are bred:
- OFA Hips: Rated Good or Excellent
- OFA Elbows: Normal
- OFA Thyroid: Normal (current at time of breeding)
- OFA Cardiac: Normal
- CERF Eyes: Certified to be free of heritable eye disease (current at time of breeding)
- Degenerative Myelopathy: Normal
We take much care in placing our puppies to ensure a successful adoption. Prospective owners complete a questionnaire and are interviewed. Puppies are sold with a health guarantee and we provide a support system throughout their lifetime. We encourage puppy people to participate in available activities so they can truly enjoy the many facets of their Ridgeback. Pet puppies are sold with AKC Limited Registration and a spay/neuter contract. We require that our puppies live in the house as family pets. Whether the pups are used as companions, show or obedience competitors, we want them to be part of a family.
Aenzi puppies are born and raised inside our home and:
- Are provided a safe and clean environment
- Are watched carefully
- Receive much human and dog contact
- Receive individual training and socialization
All puppies have health check-ups, vaccinations and dew claws removed by a veterinarian. Puppy owners receive a packet containing articles on training, health and safety as well as copies of “Super Puppy” and “How to Raise a Puppy You Can Live With” books.
Puppy's temperaments are evaluated and matched with purchasers whose lifestyles and desires are compatible with the evaluation results. Prospective owners are typically selected prior to whelping to ensure that a Ridgeback is the best match.
